Travel Teams

This piece of Elevation Basketball’s program will take shape over time and in response to the preferences of our players and their families. We expect to engage in some “travel ball” with age-based groups of girls whose abilities need to be tested and improved by competing outside Monterey County.

The bottom line is that we will work with you to calibrate Elevation’s regional tournament commitments with your willingness and ability to support those trips. We believe strongly that players don’t need to—and, with very few exceptions, shouldn’t—max out their travel schedules in any sport. That’s a recipe for physical and emotional burnout on the part of players, families, and coaches alike. 

Elevation’s goal is to help our players love the game of basketball more and more every year. The last thing we want is for our kids to bail on basketball before high school ends because they (we!) did too much too soon. This involves finding a balance that’s unique to each player and family; we want to be your partners in getting that equilibrium just right.
