We want to participate in Elevation Basketball. How can we sign up?

First, all student-athletes (and coaches) who participate in Elevation Basketball activities must secure and maintain AAU athlete memberships prior to practicing or playing with our organization. Here's a direct link to the AAU Membership page. We also ask that you reach out to Coach Price by email to let him know of your intent to sign up. You'll need our club code to affiliate your player(s) with Elevation Basketball: UTAKARYYE.

Note that the AAU membership year runs from September 1st to August 31st. Please ensure that you select the $26 “extended coverage” membership, which allows Elevation teams to participate in events sponsored by non-AAU entities (such as recreation departments, schools, etc.).

We have a busy schedule and aren’t sure we can make all scheduled Elevation skill workouts. Can we still join and participate?

Absolutely! This is part of the point of our subscription-based model. We understand that kids and families are busy and we encourage our players to enjoy a variety of activities outside basketball. Academy members are welcome and encouraged to join us in the gym whenever their schedules allow.

How would you describe Elevation Basketball’s coaching philosophy?

First, we’d describe our coaching philosophy as a teaching philosophy. Our classroom is the gym; our subject is Advanced Placement Basketball. We aim to engage players in a long-term learning process where their physical skills are enhanced by quality decision-making and a sophisticated understanding of the “what/how/when/why” dimensions of basketball.

In terms of practice style and activities, we favor a modern, evidence-based approach to skill acquisition that invites players to discover movement and tactical solutions through learned experience rather than rote, prescriptive, high-pressure coaching.

More broadly, we take a very supportive, encouraging approach to our teaching. We want the gym to be a joyful place for our athletes. That doesn't mean we won't work hard. It does mean that we want that work to take place in an environment your kids enjoy.

Is Elevation Basketball insured?

Yes. As a function of our AAU membership status, our practices, workouts, and games are all covered by a comprehensive group insurance policy. In addition, all coaches are subject to thorough background checks prior to leading any AAU activities.

What do Elevation Basketball programs cost?

We’ve structured our programs on a subscription basis, charging annual membership fees that allow us to book gym time, secure necessary equipment, and cover our nonprofit organization’s initial and ongoing expenses.  For our first year of operations (September, 2025 through August, 2026), membership fees are as follows:

  • Base Camp Skills Academy, ages 8-14: $500
  • Summit Skills Academy, ages 14-18: $500
  • Ascent Shooting Academy, ages 10-18: $200 (requires Base Camp or Summit membership)
  • Elevation Travel Teams: TBD in 2026
How can we pay Elevation’s membership fees?

We accept (and prefer!) checks made payable to Elevation Basketball. Upon request, we will also provide a Stripe Payment Link where you can use a credit card to cover your fees. To use this option, please call, text, or email Coach Price to request the appropriate link(s).

Will Elevation prorate fees if we join after the program year has begun?

For those who join Base Camp in 2026, we will offer a 20% reduction in fees. For Summit and Ascent, we'll determine partial-year fees when we launch those programs in 2026.

Does Elevation offer refunds if we choose to stop participating at some point during the year?

We will refund 20% of your fees if you resign your athlete’s membership prior to January 1st. Due to our costs for Spring and Summer activities, we can’t offer refunds after the new calendar year begins.
